Jumping on the Bandwagon

Okay, so in lieu of some brain-shattering piece (as, obviously, every other post on here, of course, is) I thought I would just follow in the emulatable footsteps of Miss Marissa Lee Memmott, and list some categorical information sur moi:

5 things I was doing 10 years ago:
1. I had just been baptized. I was living in St. Louis, MO.
2. I was playing soccer on a county team. Glorious, discovering my left foot that year.
3. I was in third grade, and had a secret crush on my teacher, Mr. Box. Oh, and was also making jokes about him on the bus--grade school was the height of my comedic career, I promise--"Mr. Cardboard Box! His first name is Cardboard!!!" And everyone laughed and my hilarity was established and thereafter expected.
4. That summer I went to a Day camp where I learned to fear snakes and adore the Romanovs. I also went to Michigan, as usual, and jumped waves with my brother, who had some antique electrical tubes in his pocket, and my sister, who lost her watch.
5. My aspiration was to become a Wildlife Manager/Ecologist. I know, strange, huh?

5 things I was doing 5 years ago:
1. Let's see, 13. Oh brother.... my lucky number, my unlucky year. I was living in Page, AZ and I was in 7th grade.
2. I was really into 19th century pastoral literature. Alfred Ollivant's "Bob, Son of Battle" was my favorite book.
3. I had two dogs, a beagle and a blue heeler. (When we moved, we gave them away..)
4. I was a loser who wanted to learn, so I was actually homeschooled for half of seventh grade (and therefore able to indulge in all of the quirky literary genres I wished...)
5. Still played soccer, though competition was scarce in isolated northern Arizona. I played on the city's travelling team, and we travelled maybe once... or twice... to tournaments in St. George.

5 things I was doing 1 year ago:
1. Junior year of high school...! Seems as far away as the preceding categories.
2. I was getting ready for State Speech and Debate. Jiminy, that was SO FUN!
3. Still a nerd.
4. Still playing soccer. Actually, at the risk of sounding like a braggart, I'll divulge that I scored the winning goal in the state tournament... beating South Sevier 1-0. Such a light feeling.
5. Preparing my cello solo for State solo and ensemble. I love the cello....!

5 snacks I enjoy:
1. Oranges (yum yum yum!)
2. Cheese (including the cottage variety)
3. Nuts (any kind... though my favorites are cashews and almonds)
4. Hummus (alone or with pita bread)
5. Recently, I've been digging yogurt, though it's not generally been a favorite.

5 things I did yesterday:
1. I worked--I have the best job EVER! I am a Research Assistant for Brother Hoskisson.
2. I went to classes: German, Hebrew, and a lecture on Victorian art.
3. I went shopping with the raddest nerds evvva! and watched one of them almost pick up a guy with a Mike and Ike line. Beautiful. Ate Tillamook cheese.
4. Visited my great aunt Beryl. She is the cutest! Today she totally checked out this redhead when we went to a quilting store on University Parkway. It was incredible.
5. Drooled over this amazingly good looking man in my German class... again...

5 jobs I've had:
1. Selling raspberries and lavender at my aunt and uncle's farm in California. My first job.
2. Babysitting.
3. B&B manager at the Osborne Inn summer 2006.
4. Custodian for BYU. Early morning. In the Eyering Science Center. I lasted 3.5 weeks. But who's counting...?
5. Research Assistant! Love it.

5 things I'd do with a million dollars:
1. Travel.
2. In connection with the above, pay for college now, and then go get a few graduate degrees abroad (Germany and England...?)
3. Help my parents with whatever they need (I know, Marissa. Consider this an echo of your altruism... a ripple from the generous stone you skipped.)
4. Buy my way into the arms of that gorgeous man in my German class...
5. Save, and go on sporadic shopping trips with the interest.

5 shows I like:
1. America's Next Top Model. I've talked about this.
2. These awesome Sherlock Holmes adaptations in this Grenada television series starring Jeremy Brett. He IS Sherlock Holmes.
3. Monty Python's Flying Circus.
4. The Ed Sullivan Show.
5. Yes, I have noticed that most of this list is comprised of shows that are no longer running. This one isn't either, but it's been rather more recent (it continued to within the last decade or so): to my somewhat placated shame, Full House. Only because I actually used to watch it when it was running. Plus, who can resist the glory days of Saget?

5 things I hate doing:
1. Growing up.
2. Losing (this includes getting lower grades than I expect, etc).
3. Disappointing others -slash- being unreliable.
4. Worrying.
5. Looking in the mirror. Sad, but true! I'd really rather not.
(6. Filling out things like this in the wee small hours of the morning, when my perspective is unfailingly bleak)

5 things that bring me joy:
1. Growing up.
2. Winning (or being complimented -slash- performing above my expectations)
3. Reading! Learning! Speaking different languages!
4. Being with my fam and friends.
5. Music.
