High School Love
Ridiculous really. I feel like a middle schooler again: the whispered secrets in the library, the stifled giggles among a circle of friends in the hallway, the crazy missions that will remain impossible (but are fun to formulate, nonetheless), the "you ask him!"s and the "Ohmigosh! You'll never guess what he said!"s, the intrigue, the planned seating, the accidental bumps in the hallway, the "bend and snap", the meticulous, time-consuming game of high school (or should I say junior high?) love. Well not love, really. Rather: Twitterpation. Fancy. Whatever the appellation, it is silly and rather comical. In recent weeks, this foolishness has disturbed (for better or worse) my previously contented high school existence. I hear tantalizing rumors about things that are "going to happen." (Person: Angie, has anything happened yet? Me: What? Person: Oooooh! So and So is going to make something happen soon. Just wait!) I am befuddled preoccupied curious altogether uneasy. maybe a bit excited too? I don't know. I have heard of two possible love interests who are "going to do something." Oh brother. I have just decided that I do not have time for this tomfoolery. I will not devote any more of my brainpower to perusing possiblities regarding these two fellows. They are very good friends and will remain so (until maybe April when college classes are ended). Just kidding. excuse my momentary relapse into a tittering, boy-eyeballing, teenybopper.
