Happy V Day

Vellum and Valentine's Day and Vapidity and Vortexes all have two things in common: consonant beginning consonants, and one other thing but I can't think of it they might be. Oh, remembered. Each of them coexist annually on February 14: On Valentine's Day vapidity is recorded on vellum in the vortexes of commercial romance. Okay, I'm done venting--which is another word that can join that group. I am rather excited, though, as tonight I am going to the Victorian (another word...) art exhibit at the MOA, which apparently includes a John Waterhouse. His artistic transposition of women from literature to canvas has always captivated me, and as trite as that sounds, it's true. I love his various renditions of the Lady of Shallott, as well as St. Eulalia, Ophelia (attached, thanks to jwwaterhouse.com), and Lamia. Ah, glorious, glorious, glorious.
