Cross-Stitch Fanatic?
Last summer, I ordered a Mary Queen of Scots sampler as my once-in-a-lifetime decorative sewing project. Whew! Let me tell you, it will be a once-in-a-lifetime endeavor. I worked on it steadily for a few weeks that summer, and now and then since, but it wasn't until a few weeks before Christmas break that a spark lit the long-dormant kindling of love for x-stitch. Now that small, smoky flame has grown into a strong, clear bonfire. My days and nights have been consumed by cross-stitching since December. Gee whiz! I cannot stop doing needlepoint. It's becoming ridiculous. Ah well, I am about 3/5 of the way finished with the app. 1.5' x 3.5' (it's huuuuge!) task. When I am done, after days of celebration, I think my feelings toward cross-stitching will simmer down - but, of course, I will regard anyone who takes the craft up with immense admiration and I will only feel satisfaction concerning my brief stint in needlepoint. Right now, though, I am basically fanatical, obsessive - and those really are understatements. At this rate, however, I should be done by June.
